There is a lot of good stuff in Romans chapters 6-10! Romans 6 speaks on being free from sin. Oh man! Isn’t that ever needed today? Chapter 7 talks about being free from the law. Praise the Lord for His love shown on the cross! In chapter 8 those two themes are somewhat summarized, mixed up, and redirected to how the truths from chapters 6 and 7 affect a believer’s life. One of my favorite sections from Romans 8 are verses 35-39, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
No matter what life throws your way, God’s love is there. No matter what trial you’re going through, God is there. He is there not to just hold your hand and comfort you. He is there help you up to fight again. We are not just conquerors, but MORE THAN conquerors (vs 37). Let’s choose to live today as a people who is on the Lord’s side… the winning side! Nothing can separate us from our Leader in the conflict.
