If you have not been born again, do you know what real comfort is? Just like love, true comfort is something that only believers in Christ can truly experience to its fullest. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, it’s like a blind man gaining his vision, and even more. You look at the world totally different. So much more comes to light, and is revealed before us. God’s comfort is one of the things the spiritually blind cannot see. Today we read about comfort in Isaiah 66:13-14. We see comfort used 3 times in verse 13, and verse 14 we see that because of God’s comfort, “your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb.” A couple weeks ago, we read in Isaiah 51:3 that because of God’s comfort, the people receive joy and gladness, thanksgiving and the voice of melody. We see because of God’s comfort, you can have a heart full of joy and singing.
With God’s comfort comes peace of mind. Let go of stress and stop worrying about politics, about the future, and about what might come of it. It’s not our job to do so, because we should have ultimate comfort in Christ. Only He knows what the future will bring because He is in control. How great it is that we have his love and comfort, and his forgiveness to allow us to have everlasting comfort in his heavenly kingdom.
When we surrender all to God, it’s amazing what His comfort will allow you to do spiritually. You’ll end up doing things you would’ve never done before. He allows you to grow more and more. The more you trust in God’s comfort, the happier you’ll be. Just like a newborn baby finding comfort in it’s mom when they’re scared or hungry, you can find even more comfort in God’s divine arm.
